Is It Cool Or Tacky To Wear Black On The Ski Slopes?
Congratulations! You have finally made the decision to buy a ski helmet. It is always a good idea to protect your head. You need your brain for so many things! Buying your helmet probably was not an easy task. There were a lot of things to consider.
Price was an important consideration, as was quality. Even the least expensive protective helmets have to pass minimum safety codes, but there were still a lot of other things to consider. Getting the best quality for the lowest price takes some time and careful comparison shopping.
You probably also paid some attention to the aerodynamic features of the different helmets. Maybe the aerodynamics were less interesting to you than the extreme coolness of how they looked! In the end, you were looking for a cool looking helmet more than you were looking for an effective one.
Then there was the color. You knew perfectly well that the color was not going to have anything to do with how well it worked, but that did not stop you from spending as much time or more making a color decision as you had spent on your other decisions.
You probably imagined a lot of reactions that the color of your helmet would evoke. Red might look too flashy, gun metal grey wouldn't look flashy enough. Then you wondered if it was going to clash with the rest of your ski outfit. You probably even wondered whether or not it was going to match that black sport watch you always wear.
In the end, the one you came back to again and again was the black helmet. The only thing that held you back was its color. You identify black with Darth Vader and the Gothic look and neither of those suits your personality. Still it looks so very cool!
No worries! That black one is not going to make people think you're a Goth or a Star Wars geek. Just avoid wearing all black and you will be okay. If you have a white or colored ski parka and pants, they will stand out more than your helmet. You can safely wear black boots with your helmet, too. Just don't wear all black.
Black can be very cool if you use it right. The mistake people make is when they choose a favorite color and wear it exclusively. That is almost always a tacky looking choice for the slopes or anyplace else. Sometimes all white can look really good, but even that should be avoided on the snow unless you are employed as a Ninja assassin! If you get lost and they send out a search party, they will have a very hard time spotting you if you wear all white. For the sake of safety, choose a color that contrasts with the snow.
Audi lifts veil on Q3 Vail concept, confirms production Q3 for North America (Autoblog)

Those of us on this side of the pond in the market for a luxury crossover
should be familiar with the gargantuan Audi Q7 and its little brother, the Q5.
Overseas the German automaker also offers an even more compact Q3. Today on
the floor of the Detroit Auto Show, Audi announced it will be bringing the Q3
to the North American market, and this is the show car with which they broke
the news.
Called the Q3 Vail, what we have here is a concept version of the overseas-
market crossover with some added off-road trim. Named for the Colorado ski
resort, the Q3 Vail has lower body cladding similar to the treatment on Audi's
Allroad wagons, in matte grey to contrast with the glossy red paint job. The
theme is further accented by aluminum underbody guard plates and extra
lighting, with 20-inch wheels to round out the package. The red, black and
grey color theme carries into the cabin, and there's a 314-horsepower,
2.5-liter turbo five-cylinder powering all four wheels through a seven-speed
automatic for an impressive 5.5-second sprint to 62 mph.
