I want to get this for a teen. Is this good netbook?
If this teen is going to use this computer for schoolwork, playing movies, burning CD's get a larger laptop! Netbooks are very limited. Good for emails and some other minor data searching but the screen is small and the keyboard is a little cramped .
I have an Imac and a Toshiba 14" laptop that I use for serious work. I did buy an Asus (eeePC) from Best Buy for $249. I travel a lot overseas and can easily take that little netbook with me where my 14 inch Toshiba was just a little too big and clunky.
Buy the netbook if it will be used for travel and less serious work. Buy a laptop with CD drive if this will be the primary computer for school work and working with CD's. If your kid already has another laptop with full features then this second computer can be used like a grown up cell phone.
I chose the Asus over the Acer because it had better reviews and there are a lot of dealers overseas where I travel. I think the keyboard was a hair larger than the Acer (I have big hands.)
